Rules & Guidelines

1) All rules of the TOS apply to Elk Point Roleplay Sim.  

2) Godmodding, making someone else's character do something they didn't agree to do, is not allowed.  Players can only write actions and reactions for their own characters.

3) Powergaming, giving your character God like skills and abilities, is not allowed.  When creating a character consider what is reasonable for them to have learned in their lifetime, what are they good at, what are they not good at.  Every character has weaknesses even if they don't advertise them.

4) Metagaming, using information that you know out of character in character is not allowed.  Remember to find everything you know in character, this keeps the story moving and much more fun!  

5) Setting is very important to the story and the SIM this is a Modern Role Play so please no characters, objects, particles or buildings that break that immersion.  Furries, anamorphic humans, are not allowed. Animal avatars that act like animals are allowed however in order to hold jobs, or do any other "human" things you need to appear human.  

6) In Character actions have in character consequences, for example if you shoot a gang member his crew might come later and kidnap your wife.  This is only one example of the consequences which could happen over the course of the roleplay, some you might never see coming!  This is part of the fun of the story so remember every action has a reaction, some good some bad.  

7) NPC's, Not player characters that are RPed in to fill up a story, are an important part of the world, they make it feel more full. any business or faction you control can have as many NPC's as suits the story, for example it is reasonable to assume there are always police officers in the police station or a store clerk in a corner store, however outside of your business or faction each person is limited to two NPC's, such as body guards or additional gang members.

8) In order to play on Elk Point Roleplay SIM you agree that you are at least 18 years of age in RL.  No one who is under 18 in RL can play on the SIM.    

9) There are two distinct areas on the SIM, the Elk Point subdivision (richer area and downtown) and the Fishers Hallow Subdivision (slums and prep school university area) there is ferry access between the two across from the hospital.  No characters under the age of 18 are allowed on either part of the SIM at any time despite the fact there is a school, only characters who are 18+ may attend the school.

10) Firearms and drugs are controlled substances in Elk Point.  When you took the ferry from the mainland and entered elk point for the first time your person and body were searched for them and all controlled substances were seized. (Thank you Patriot Act!)  If you had an unregistered firearm, or drugs you will never see them again (sorry).  If you had a registered weapon it will be held in  lock down until you apply for a firearms license from the Elk point Police.  In order use a firearm of any kind or drugs you need to obtain the corresponding item token through RP.  You can read more about our controlled substance
